Rudy 02:13
Rudy, are ya chilly? I can tell by the way Poinsettias seem to match The color of your face Ya, those cheeks are pract'lly glowin' Our friction'd melt the snow so Scooch that red nose closer to me Rudy, feelin' frigid? You're shakin' like sticks Take a step closer I could toast those chapped lips Wrap around ya, getcha cozy So mosey those frozen toes on over mmhm, scooch that red nose closer to me We're finding constellations in the Christmas lights Tellin' stories as if we fireside But your teeth are chatterin' Drowning out the would-be silent night--- But if you'd just slip Into my pockets With your mitten in mine We could quickly accomplish Warmin' ya up Rudy, it’d be so nice! I can make you feel nice Rudy, it's quite icy I got warmth here to share Tucked away twixt my fingers If you'd bring yours over here Those cheeks are pract’lly glowin' No need to let the snow win I’ll melt ya just like Frosty Slide on closer to my body And scooch that red nose closer to me Scooch that big red nose closer to me

I got a letter here from Santa And it seems we’re all addressed Says he loves his job But lately he’s been dying from the stress He said if we could come together And fulfill his one request Yes, Santa needs some help from us this year He says the water’s getting hotter And it’s harder to ignore The polar caps are melting and it’s bad news for the North Pole He doesn’t wanna bother But the workshop’s underwater Oh Santa needs some help from us this year So calling Santa’s little helpers (that’s us!) Everyone pitch in (okay!) The winter kind of swelters The future’s looking grim (uh-oh) Santa’s little helpers Let’s all give back to him I don’t mean to be a pain dear, But reindeer just can’t swim Oh Santa needs some help from us this year I gotta another one from Santa And this time it’s even worse he’s been checking up and frankly He is really quite concerned he promised he’s not taking sides He’s just immuno-compromised Oh Santa needs some help from us this year He says he sees us when we’re sleeping And he knows when we’re awake And we clearly are not keeping a full six feet away All he asks is wear a mask And just be good for goodness sake Oh Santa needs some help from us this year So calling Santa’s little helpers (that’s us) Everyone pitch in (okay!) Let’s all stay in and shelter And have some discipline He’s been hard at work for us It’s time that we gave back to him! can’t we all just do our part For an obese senior citizen? Oh Santa needs some help from us this year (Santa would like you all to know that while he has had to cancel all in-person lap-sittings this year, as always his inbox, mailbox, and faxbox are wide open! Wow he’s so nice, we should really help him out. I know! Let’s lobby congress! YAY!!!) To conclude this little letter We all better start to help He can’t do it himself he’s just One not-so-jolly elf If we can’t meet his demands he says that “You can all go Scrooge yourselves” He doesn’t mean to be a Grinch But since we put him in a pinch Oh Santa’s apolitical But the science is empirical And Santa needs a miracle this year Or else- he’s hitching reindeer to the stars And ditching us to live on mars!

My cookies burn I never learned The words to The First Noel I’m not so nice I hate cold nights Every time I’ve stepped on ice I’ve slipped and fell I always felt inadequate for the whole holiday bit Christmas just felt so counterfeit But now it's my favorite season 'Cause I cant avoid believin' No I can’t avoid the feeling Mmmmmhmmmm That it’s Christmas Just because You are by my side Two of us Get paper cuts Wrapping gifts up Growing up Christmas never looked like it did on TV I always felt inadequate For the whole holiday bit Felt like a Christmas counterfeit Till you But now it's my favorite season 'Cause I cant avoid believin' No I can’t avoid the feeling Mmmmmhmmmm That it’s Christmas With just You, no you, and you The two of us Though I can’t give you a stocking-full I can’t afford a tree Honey, I’d be glad to get a lump of coal Then at least we’d have some heat I’ll untangle all the lights Baby, there’s no need Your eyes shine just as bright As a star dancing in the night And I’ll follow where you lead O now it's my favorite season ‘Cause I can't avoid believin' Yeah, you are the reason, mmhmm That its Christmas With just Your hands in mine to be my guide Arms to hold me through Yuletide The spirit is nearest With you by my side Yes, it’s Christmas With just The two of us

Christmas in California San Diego to the northern shore ya How many ways can I say I adore ya Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be than... Christmas in California From the Bay all the way to the border You don’t how long I’ve been waiting for ya Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be than... Palm trees covered in lights Bonfires on the beach on a silent night Everyone knows redwoods are better than pine And this is where you wanna be come wintertime Give my regards to the folks out East Down in the South and Midwest, but please Don’t you complain or tell me you’re cold Till you spent a summer in San Francisco! Christmas in California From the valley, the city, all over How many ways can I say I adore ya Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be than... Christmas in California Pouring in to visit out’a every corner You don’t how long I’ve been waiting for ya Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be tonight To all the folks tryna make us jealous Trying to flex, I don’t care what you tell us It’s not on my wishlist to have a white Christmas (What about the traffic and taxes?) Hey! mind your business! Who wants black ice on the 101? no need to layer up under December sun 'Cause who wouldn’t trade in all their snow days For one sweet taste of Cali-for-ni-A Aaaattention! We interrupt this broadcast to bring you an breaking news Better getcha’rself under a doorframe, There’s a hella big earthquake on its way - riiiiiiighttttt now! (that's what makes the bells jingle) Christmas in California Holidays are always better at home ya How many ways can I say I adore ya Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be than... Christmas in California Paradise wherever you roam ya Couldn't ask for much more, no There’s nowhere I would rather be than (San Jose, Half Moon Bay) There’s nowhere I would rather be than (Monterey and East LA) There’s nowhere I would rather be than (Santa Cruz, Malibu) There’s nowhere I would rather be than Just know there’s nowhere I would rather be tonight

It’s dark here The only thing I can see’s my breath It’s getting colder As the moon descends And I quicken up my footsteps To keep pace with yours But you turn around And tell me to go indoors So we’ll just sit on the couch And pretend to be in love We’ll run around Not givin’ up We’ll go to lots of parties Make each other laugh until we cry We’ll kiss a little harder ‘Cause we both love to lie But this year for Christmas I don’t want nothing This year for Christmas, Please give me something That I can do more than just touch Of plastic-coated happiness I’ve had enough It’s the same every year Frankly it’s gettin’ old To open up nothing but your presents of impresence And the cold So help me make this Christmas miracle come true If you can’t tell me that you love me, Tell me that we’re through Remember when it all began And the world still was shiny? Remember how when we walked we ran Down all those winding roads Remember that first December when you took me aside And told me that if you died Your one regret would be Not tellin’ everyone you knew that you loved me But this year for Christmas I don’t want nothing This year for Christmas, Please give me something That I can do more than just touch Of plastic-coated "happiness" I’ve had enough It’s the same every year Frankly it’s gettin’ old To open up nothing but your presents of impresence And the cold So help me make this Christmas miracle come true If you can’t tell me that you love me, Tell me that we’re through You used to be the only thing on my wishlist But now I’d trade anything to exchange your kisses For anything else, Just let me go I’m getting tired of writing letters to the North Pole wishin’ to be alone… And this year for Christmas I don’t want nothing This year for Christmas, Please give me something That I can do more than just touch I can’t sustain myself on memory I need real love So help me make this Christmas miracle come true No need to put a bow on it No need to wrap it up in paper No need to tag it “to” or “from” Just tell me the truth Tell me that.. ‘Stead of hanging tinsel on the tree Much rather wake up with you no longer next to me I can bake all the cookies by myself And hang up the stockings without your help I’m perfectly fine with being alone under mistletoe I’d trade anything if you would just go ‘Cause anything is better Than this charade we got going on Look me in the eyes and tell me That this doesn’t feel wrong I’m waking up early Christmas morning Rushin’ down the stairs Luggage in my hand and Excitement in the air I’ll take a bite out of the cookies So you’ll know that I’ve been here Don’t forget to take the lights down before February And have a happy Well, have a...fresh New year.

It was a Christmas party The kind that you hate When you’re broken-hearted And you don’t have a date When I suddenly saw her by the tree Wrapped in red from head to toe Said, “Are you looking at me?” She told me, “What do you think?” So she put her arm in mine And we lost track of time Sipping peppermint schnapps And talking nonstop For how long, I don’t know We knew it was more than love Hanging in the air between us When we both looked up I call her Ms. Mistletoe You know the woman I met About a year ago The one I’ll never forget ‘Cause the moment we spent Still replays in my head Like a movie that never gets old Oh Ms. Mistletoe, You know the woman I kissed About a year ago On her peppermint lips I still remember the taste But I didn’t get her name, what a shame I guess I’ll never know Oh, Ms. Mistletoe How did I let you go? She started a flame In the hearth of my heart Kept me warm through the spring But by the autumn it’d start- Ed to fade till December arrived With what to my jolly eyes, But an invite So I went back to the party ‘Cause I thought what the heck And I was hoping to find That snow angel in red But she was nowhere in sight She was nowhere inside And my spirits were flickering low When someone tapped me on the shoulder With a mistletoe hanging right overhead She said, Mister, don’t I know ya? Aren’t you Mr. Mistletoe The very man that I met About a year ago Golden bow round your neck? And the moment we spent Was even better than A movie that never gets old Say, Ms. Mistletoe, You are the woman I missed Over a year or so Since the moment we kissed But I didn’t get your name What a shame But little did the two of us know Oh Ms. Mistletoe (Yeah?) Someday I'd call you Mrs. Mistletoe If I can call you Mr. Mistletoe I’m never letting you go Fell for you like falling snow Underneath the mistletoe I'm never letting you go...

Days long gone when snowflakes Would drip onto our tongues Singing carols ‘till both our throats were sore We were so young Thought there will always be one winter more The snow’s still yet to come it’s taking its sweet time I don’t hear a sound, but even now Your sweet voice echoes in my ear But It’s a different type of silent night this year... Chasing you through the crowd As we cross the bustling square Elbow through to the display in the window I say a prayer Hope it finds you at the end of where the wind blows Walking by that window It’s dark and boarded tight Now I’m passing through on the avenue But the crowd has disappeared It’s a different type of silent night this year... Thankful for those happy golden days of yore But what I wouldn’t give to get a couple more Now I hibernate for the holiday Try and wait out the storm But no mitten, no slipper, no roaring fire Seems to keep me as warm One less stocking by the fire One less card on the mantle wrap your sweater tight over my shoulders One more candle As I weather the winter it gets colder Even Turtle doves Take flight when it’s too cold But not every bird will return I can’t shake the bone-deep ache Now the future’s so unclear Without you here It’s a different type of silent night this year... Sleep in heavenly peace
